Earlier this week I was in The Straits (You can find Straits details under outlets, no direct link as the site is another annoying flash indulgence) near Far East Square to try out some food that will be served in another bar (There’s going to be a Beef & Guinness dish to watch out for). This time I was having a beer and sampling the regular bar menu. These are the mixed sausages which went really well with their Traveller’s Wheat Ale (the sausages are ordinary enough, but tasty. Solid performers rather than something exceptional but the lashings of gravy with them really lift the dish):
One interesting thing I noted today is how much Archipelago is influenced by Guinness – compare their bottled beer styling to a Guinness Extra Stout bottle and look at the posters/messages on the wall.
